April is Community Banking Month. CNB to Celebrate with Bank from Anywhere Promotion and Community Shred Days

Community Banking Month 2017In honor of Community Banking Month, Citizens National Bank is offering a “Bank from Anywhere” sweepstakes to its customers during the month of April. Each person who enrolls in a new online or mobile banking product or downloads our CardValet debit card app or completes a mobile deposit will be automatically entered to win 1 of 3 grand prize Kindle Fire tablets or 1 of 7 second prize 32” rolling duffle bags. In addition to the sweepstakes, each branch is giving away a gift basket including items from each of our branch communities. Anyone who visits a branch may enter to win the Community gift baskets. The drawing for the baskets will be held on Friday, April 28.

Finally, in an effort to promote identity theft awareness, our branches are each hosting a Community Shred Day, where the public is invited to protect their identity by bringing their personal paper documents to be shredded. Cake will be served at each branch during their Shred Day. The dates for each branch are as follows:

Friday, April 14 – Bluffton, Findlay, Lima and Elida branch offices
Friday, April 21 – Celina and Van Wert branch offices
Friday, April 28 – Defiance branch office

Items to be shredded will be accepted during normal business hours of each office. There is a limit of 3 standard office size boxes or grocery bags per household. Items to be shredded could include:

  • Financial Statements
  • Canceled & Blank Checks
  • Paycheck Stubs
  • Credit Card & Account Numbers
  • Credit Information
  • Personal Records
  • Tax records
  • Medical records
  • Any items containing your social security number or signature.
  • Any mail or magazines that have personal identifiers
  • No need to remove staples or paper clips

*No electronic items will be accepted. All paper material will be destroyed by Allshred Services, a NAID Certified Company.

Each year the Independent Community Bankers Association designates April as national Community Banking Month, drawing attention to the importance these institutions play in our local economies by taking deposits and lending the money back out to local businesses. There are more than 51,000 community banks nationwide, employing 700,000 Americans and financing more than 50 percent of small business loans and 90 percent of agricultural loans.

Celina Citizens National Bank to Celebrate CNB Madness Customer Appreciation Day March 16

Courtney Geus Promoted to Assistant Vice President Retail Lending at Citizens National Bank

Citizens National Bank (CNB) is pleased to announce the promotion of Courtney Geus to AVP Retail Lending. In this position, she is responsible for the pricing, selling, delivery and servicing of all salable loans. She oversees underwriting for 1-4 family mortgages, home equity lines of credit, secondary market lending, Visa credit card and consumer lending.

Geus received a degree in Mathematics from Bluffton University and a Master of Education degree from Ohio Valley University. She began working at CNB in 2011 as a teller in Bluffton, moving into underwriting at the Lima office in 2012. She is a committee member for the Citizens National Bank Service Club. She and her husband and son reside in Bluffton, Ohio.

Ardner holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Northwestern Ohio. He began working at CNB in 2012 as a Mortgage Underwriter and assumed a position in project management in 2014. He is a member of Citizens National Bank’s Service Club and volunteers at various events in the community. He and his wife reside in Delphos, Ohio.

Eric Faulkner Named Senior Vice President Business Banking Officer at Citizens National Bank

Eric Faulkner SVP/Business Banking Officer

Citizens National Bank (CNB) is pleased to announce the promotion of Eric Faulkner to SVP Business Banking Officer. In this position, he is responsible for running the bank’s Loan Participation Program as well as building and maintaining a commercial and agricultural loan portfolio in the Columbus and Springfield markets.

Faulkner received his Bachelor of Science in marketing as well as his Master of Business Administration from Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia.  Faulkner joined CNB in 2009. He is actively involved with the Ohio Bankers League (OBL), serving as the chairman for the Next Generation Advisory Board. He represents CNB at OBL and Community Bankers Association of Ohio events and acts as CNB’s legislative representative for governmental affairs. He currently resides in Galena, Ohio with his wife and two children.

Cindy Scott Named Senior Vice President Marketing and Communications at Citizens National Bank

Citizens National Bank (CNB) is pleased to announce the promotion of Cindy Scott to SVP Marketing and Communications. In this position, she is responsible for developing marketing strategies, advertising plans, media buying and corporate and internal communications bank-wide.

Scott joined CNB in 2006 as the VP Marketing Director.  Since that time, her department’s responsibilities have expanded to include social media management, participation in new product development and the creation of an internal employee training program. Scott received her bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and her MBA from the University of Findlay and has 15 years’ experience in marketing management. She is a graduate of the Allen Lima Leadership program, an active member of the Allen Lima Leadership Youth committee and a member of the American Bankers Association Marketing Network. She and her family reside in Alger, Ohio.
