Each year the month of April is designated as National Community Banking month, recognizing the unique spirit that makes community banks the foundation of their communities. This spirit can be identified by not only the important economic contributions that we make, but also through social contributions including countless volunteer hours and valuable resources that we provide our communities throughout the year. Citizens National Bank and our employees have made a concerted effort this year to be more visible in our communities through service projects. We’re also helping to improve community resources through our support of capital campaigns and the information we provide through online channels.

A service club for CNB employees was created and launched in 2014, titled CNBe Service Club. This initiative allows our employees the opportunity to work together on various projects throughout the year to promote the importance of volunteerism and how individuals can make a difference. A few of the projects already completed include: Assisting the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center with spring cleaning, collecting items to be donated to Honor Flight which allows veterans to fly to Washington DC to view war memorials and hosting a bake sale and assisting with the related fundraiser to aid a local girl in Van Wert with cancer. Many more activities are planned this year as our employees reach out to serve.

In support of advancing healthcare and civic growth, we contributed to the Blanchard Valley Health Foundation for improvements to the Bluffton Hospital, the Van Wert County Hospital capital campaign, the Mennonite Home Communities Greenhouse Project, the Springfield Regional Medical Center capital campaign, the Lima Area Chamber Foundation, Lima Family YMCA capital campaign and the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center. We realize the importance these initiatives hold for the better health and continued wellbeing of the citizens that live in these areas.

We also use social media and our website to provide sound financial information and aid our customers in keeping up to date with our latest products and services in our online communities. Check out our Facebook page to view progress on our latest branch office in Defiance; View our latest testimonial on our YouTube channel; Or use our library of Financial Calculators on http://www.cnbohio.com to determine a loan payment amount or help save for retirement.

We’re proud to represent the true spirit of community banking. Thanks for letting us be part of your community!
